Baby Luke Newborn Session

This beautiful family has been a long time client of mine. After taking Lauren’s maternity photos, I couldn’t wait for baby Luke to be born. He is just the most precious little man. Ava is his two year old big sister!

As we set the first scene, it became apparent that Ava is still be a little camera shy because the moment my camera appeared her demeanor completely changed. We had this same experience during Lauren’s maternity shoot. Even bribery had no effect. We set Ava free and concentrated on baby Luke and his parents.

Towards the end of the session we approached Ava, snacks in hand, hoping to change her mind. She was still not interested in participating. So I put down my camera and sat down beside her. I spoke to her about my family and asked her if she might want to see some pictures of my kids. To my surprise she brightened immediately and said “Yes!”. Showing her pictures and telling her about my two girls and baby boy, help break down the barrier between us.

The photoshoot commenced with Ava engaged and we ended up with some amazing photos. It was so easy to capture the love between Lauren and her husband, Adam, and the adoration for their children. It is my hope that I can continue to watch this family grow and change through my lens over the years.
